OUR OLDER LOGO AND TAG LINE

The Edmonton Epilepsy Association (EEA) has been in operation since June 1960. We were established as a chapter of the then-national charity United Way, with a mission focused on supporting the epilepsy community in our region. Most patients and community members we serve have always lived in the Edmonton area, and the organization has proudly carried the name Edmonton Epilepsy Association for more than 65 years.

At the Annual General Meeting on February 26, 2026, the membership passed a special resolution to adopt a new legal name: The Epilepsy Association of Edmonton and Northern Alberta (EAENA). As the legal process to formalize this change is underway, we are preparing to introduce a new name, logo, and tagline. The official transition will take place at our June 20, 2026 event, alongside our second awareness campaign of the year.

Over the years, our logo has evolved through several iterations, reflecting our growth and ongoing commitment to the community. Our longstanding tagline has been: “The Epilepsy Association of Northern Alberta.”

In 2020, we introduced a refreshed logo accompanied by the phrase Ask Me Why!”a conversation starter encouraging engagement with anyone who sees members and supporters wearing purple in support of our campaigns. This initiative reflects our commitment to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and fostering meaningful conversations that help decrease isolation and create opportunities for a better quality of life for those affected by epilepsy.
