EPILEPSY PORTRAITS
Learn and keep updated on this new EEA project. We are accepting participants up to March 31, 2024.
MENTAL HEALTH FOR EPILEPSY
The EEA is pleased to announce an exciting new project for EEA members who are interested in mental health counselling, to help them deal with their epilepsy diagnosis. The purpose of these sessions will be to help our members deal with their epilepsy and any mental health conditions they may have associated with their condition. These sessions will be one on one with a trained mental health professional and can be conducted in-person, by phone or on-line. LEARN MORE HERE.
PAST EVENTS
March 24, 2024 – Oil Kings Fundraising at Rogers Place! We raised funds for epilepsy and our President, Tammy T. along with a young EEA member, Keliah L., were interviewed live during the first intermission. Check out photos and the video recording at this link.
We hosted a wonderful interactive session sharing epilepsy stories, led by Cassidy Megan, Founder of Purple Day.

KIDS FUN BOWLING TIME
Free bowling fun time for kids who live with epilepsy, siblings and friends.
TEAS AT THE EEA OFFICE – come by our office on this date and enjoy a fresh cup of tea, hot chocolate or coffee, some refreshments and a relaxed chat.

On April 28, 2022 we chat about support systems for families with children diagnosed with epilepsy!
THE Kids on the Block performances will be LIVE, after two years of pandemic online streaming, at the St. Albert International Children’s Festival, June 2 through 5, 2022!

Congratulations to Jace Desaulniers and Blake Arsenault our latest recipients of the Garry Hannigan’s Scholarship for Sports and activities.
In March 2022 we run a number of very successful campaigns, including a 50-50 fundraiser with the Edmonton Oil Kings. You can check our historic page at this link.

In 2022 we offered several online Kids on the Block shows online, including special performances for March Epilepsy Awareness Month. We are back in person for special festivals in June and August! Book your free show today!
The EEA held its second annual general meeting online, via Zoom, for all its members, on February 24, 2022. We are happy to inform everyone the meeting was another great success! We changed membership bylaws and elected a brand new President! Check our Strategic Planning page for updates.
We offer 9 sessions per year of these phenomenal webinars, open to everyone interested in learning more about epilepsy! A collaboration project with Epilepsy Association of Calgary.
Families Online Conversations are ongoing monthly sessions, on Zoom, where families and caregivers of kids and youth living with epilepsy gather together, to discuss, share and learn. Join for free and register today!
The EEA offers free individual 8-week sessions of the program called HOBSCOTCH – a memory coaching program designed specifically for individuals living with epilepsy. Intake is ongoing!
Our January 20, 2022 session for the Alberta Epilepsy Education Webinars will focus on epilepsy and driving. Register today!
The January 27, 2022 session of our Families Online Conversations (FOCs) will focus on AEDs for your child living with epilepsy. Join us for an exciting conversation with Curtis Shane Claassen, B.Sc.Pharm.
MEMBERS ONLINE CONVERSATIONS (MOCs)
On January 13, 2022 we start a new series of online conversations we like to call MOCs. EEA members join online for a link to a Zoom meeting. EEA Online Raffle Draw September 1, 2020
On Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 12:00 noon, the EEA online raffle draw took place, at the EEA office, at 11215 Groat Road. Anne Starreveld, director and long-time volunteer and champion of the association, drew the ticket. The winning number is: 446571 and the winner is Amie Kovich. EEA offers two scholarships to support life enhancement for youth. These include Arts, Music, Dance and/or Ethnic Identity Cultural Programs or Sports or Recreational Activity Programs.
