VOLUNTEER WITH US
The EEA makes things happen mainly with the support of wonderful people, who give of their time, skills, knowledge and networking shared experiences. In fact, over 85% of everything we do is done through direct assistance of our volunteers! Check the list below of some of the most common positions and projects our volunteers help the EEA with, throughout the year!
To be a volunteer with our association, you must:
- be of major age (or help us out with the permission of your parents),
- be an EEA member in good standing and be ready to apply yourself with our association, (apply here)
- undergo a training session with us (online or in person)
- clear reference and police checks
- sign up for specific projects
HOW IT WORKS
Consider a skill-set or a project from the list below, email us and we set up a zoom call to chat and see what is available. Remember that several of our positions and skills needed are already filled – HOWEVER – it never hurts to inquire! New projects come up all the time!
- SUPPORT FOR OUR NEWSLETTER, SOCIAL MEDIA AND WEBSITE – research articles, write copy, create visuals (see the social media and design volunteer brochure)
- MENTORING – we train mentors to provide individualized support to EEA members in need, from all walks of life!
- COMMITTEES OF THE BOARD – members to join working groups for our Committees of the Board. Usually meet online, complete assigned tasks and can run for EEA Board of Directors positions!
- FUNDRAISING – we always need help with fundraising initiatives!
- COUNSELLING – these are positions for qualified staff who wishes to donate their time to support members in need, through phone counselling. This position requires criminal Record Checks.
- HANDS-ON PROJECTS – on a regular basis we set time aside to prepare campaigns, and we need folks who can help with driving to places, setting up banners (March awareness campaign); and build things for us!
- TEACH A SKILL! – If you have a specialty skill, like painting, or a hobby, we can set up free online classes you can teach our members through.
- SOME OFFICE SKILLS FOR DATA ENTRIES – we update our databases and can use office skills, online and in-person.
